Lifting Weights Can Change Your Life

My previous blog post introduced you to the world of weight lifting and gave you just a few of the benefits.  In this post, I want to dive in deeper and give you 20 top reasons you should lift weights and how it will change your life (for the better-promise)!  I wish I could take credit for this list, but I found it in my Women’s Health Big Book of Exercises-it was so incredible that I had to share it with you.

Let’s begin…

1. You’ll lose 40% more fat

2. You’ll burn more calories
3. Your clothes will fit better
4. You’ll keep your body young
5. You’ll build stronger bones (and joints)
6. You’ll be more flexible

8. You’ll derail diabetes

Now, if these 20 benefits don’t get you moving, I don’t know what will;)  Your challenge today is to prove to yourself that this list is for real!  That means you will have to go buy a workout/weight lifting dvd, join a gym, buy some dumbbells or call me!  Your best bet for long term success is to get a personal trainer, but I realize we are all in different situations.  I know how much lifting weights has improved my life and I want you to be able to say the same thing! 
Food for Thought: 1 pound of fat takes up 18% more space on your body than 1 pound of muscle.  Now you understand why your clothes will begin to fit better if you are lifting weights and building muscle.  Don’t just take my word for it, get to work proving it!
